PARKING
Our pool parking lot is available to your team as our guests. Additional parking will be along Killingsworth Drive and Royal Glen Drive, but only on the side opposite of fire hydrants. There is additional parking at the Danbury neighborhood pool parking lot, located directly across Penny Rd, off Tattenhall Drive. Regency swim team families will park on the street.
SEATING
Visiting teams will use the right hand side of our pool deck as you enter, near the kiddie pool. There are large, round tables and umbrellas but you may want to bring extra seating and/or tents for shade. We will have overflow areas outside of the pool for your team to spread out if you’d like. (Looking at pool door from parking lot, overflow is to the right side).
Any additional chairs/benches/tents, etc. may only be used on the right hand side of the pool deck. Items cannot be placed in a way that prevents swimmers, timers, judges, etc. from getting from one end of the pool to the other.
OPENING & WARM UPS
Our pool will close to our members at 4pm. Your team is welcome to arrive any time after 4:30pm. Our Riptides swim team will warm up at 5:00pm to 5:25pm and your team will have the pool to warm up from 5:30pm to 5:55pm.
Meeting of swim officials: There will be a meeting of swim meet officials (timers, place judges, stroke and turn judges, and TSA reps) at 5:45pm at the deep end of the pool near the scorers tent. The National Anthem will be played and the meet will begin promptly at 6:00pm.
POOL DETAILS
Our pool is a 25 yard, 6 lane pool. For main events, Regency will swim in lanes 1, 3, and 5; your team will be in lanes 2, 4, and 6. We do use starting blocks, and we have lights should the swim meet go past dusk. Your coaches will be able to sit near the deep end lifeguard stand. Our coaches will sit near the shallow end lifeguard stand.
PREFERENCES AND REQUESTS
Please email our TSA reps with your team’s information as soon as you are able prior to the meet.
- Our team prefers to run the traditional meet order and allow dive-overs for the older swimmers. Please advise if you have concerns with this approach.
- If time permits, we enjoy hosting a coach relay after Breaststroke. Please let us know if you would like to join in the fun and have one or more relay teams! Email [email protected] and the Regency TSA rep if interested.
- Please send your count of registered swimmers for the meet next week as soon as you can - this will help with our concessions.
- We will use our Dolphin timers & Meet Maestro to run the meet. We have timer devices for your team as well. As a reminder, Home and Visiting teams enter the meet line-up into Meet Maestro by midnight Sunday evening prior to the meet on Tuesday night.
- Timers & Place Judges - We will have 3 timers and 1 place judge and will meet your 3 volunteer timers and 1 place judge at 5:45 at the scoring table. Our dolphin timer manager will confirm our timing process with all timers and judges prior to the meet. We will provide place-judge printed sheets for your judge.
- Runner - We will have a runner on deck to take the place judge sheets and timer sheets to the scoring table. During the meet only the TSA reps should approach the scoring table.
- Documentation - We will provide one set of heat sheets for your Clerk of Course, but rely on visiting teams to supply their own team with any additional desired printed heat sheets. We will also provide your Place Judge with Place Judge sheets.
- Ribbons - We print labels from our system for ribbons; we do not need ribbon writers. We will have ribbons for main events available a few days after the meet and deliver them to you ribbon coordinator. Please have your ribbon coordinator connect with our team ribbon coordinator, Colleen Brenegan ([email protected]) to organize a meet-up time for the ribbon provision.
- We may combine older age group relays to reduce the time of the meet; we will communicate changes to you.
RIPTIDES INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
In the event of an impending weather issue (ominous clouds, radar notices, etc.), Regency Riptides TSA rep will propose that teams pause non-main event heats and continue with only MAIN event heats. If the visiting TSA Rep agrees, we will still plan to swim non-main event heats where they were paused after all MAIN event heats have been completed until the meet is over or the impending weather forces a cancellation. In this scenario, we will follow the heat sheets for all non-main events in the order that they originally occur. If a swimmer left the meet while the non-main event heats were paused but the meet is able to continue with non-main events, they will be scratched from subsequent events at that meet. There will be no substitutions or additions to non-main event heats in this scenario. This will eliminate confusion for the clerk of course, and timers.
Note that all breaststroke events must be completed for a meet to be officially over (complete) before a weather event occurs or the meet has to resume on the following day at 6pm. We wish to avoid having a meet take place over the course of two days whenever possible which is why we recommend this approach, but we also want to allow all our swimmers to swim as long as it continues to be safe to do so. If a weather event does occur, we will proceed with delays and/or cancelations per current TSA guidelines.
We look forward to hosting you!
