Hello Riptides!

We are very excited about Regency Riptides vs Clubworx (HOME) meet coming up this Tuesday, June 13th and wanted to share a few details with you about that day.

ARRIVAL

Our pool will close to our members at 4 pm.  You are welcome to arrive any time after 4:30 pm.  Please make sure that your athlete arrives on deck by 4:45 pm. Warm-ups will begin promptly at 5 pm. The meet will begin promptly at 6 pm.

When you arrive, go directly to the volunteer table (located on the right side of the deck as you enter) for athlete check-in and volunteer check-in. Athletes will receive their swimmer number at check-in, if they do not already have it. Volunteers will receive any materials they need for their volunteer positions (this may include heat sheets, place judge sheets, announcer script, etc).

Please write swimmer number vertically on each arm between shoulder and elbow. Do not make any other marks on swimmer as it will ruin our pool chairs. Sharpies will be provided.

MEET THEME

The Regency Riptides vs Clubworx meet will be Hawaiin themed so come in your tropical best!  We will have leis for our swimmers and festive luau decor!  Best costume wins a prize!

VOLUNTEERING

Our volunteer coordinator, Beth Ward, will be sending out an email on Sunday, June 11th with volunteer assignments based upon your preferences. Beth has taken into consideration the needs of the team as well as your family dynamics when putting together our volunteer team. She has given thought to the ages of your children, your preferences for volunteer jobs, etc. However, please note, at the end of the day, we need all positions filled in order for us to have a swim meet and for your swimmer to have an awesome swim experience this summer!

If your volunteer position for this meet is a timer, first shift timers meet second shift timers at the scorer table under the tent next to the starter, immediately after backstroke and prior to the start of breastroke to hand off timers.

PARKING

The Cambridge Pool parking is reserved for our Clubworx guests.  Please do not park in our lot! Please park along Killingsworth Drive and Royal Glen Drive, but only on the sides opposite the fire hydrants.

MEET TIMING

Meet will begin at 6 pm.

We will have a meeting of swim meet officials (stroke and turn judge, timers, meet manager and TSA) at 5:45 at the deep end of the pool. The meet will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Clerk of course, stroke and turn, kid pushers, starter, announcer, dolphin manager, coaches and meet director will have heat sheets printed for the meet. All of these documents may be picked up at volunteer check in. Everyone may use the Swimtopia app to follow the progress of the meet.

ATHLETES 11 AND UP - VERY IMPORTANT

Please note: If you have a swimmer that is 11 years old and up, your swimmer will be required to report to the clerk of course when it is their turn to line-up to swim. There will be no kid pushers for ages 11 and up. This will require you and your swimmer to be paying attention to the meet as it progresses and to know when it is time to go. We will not be able to make accommodations to allow them to swim if they miss their event. Please use the following resources to track the meet:

SEATING

Our team will be seated on the left hand side as you enter the pool.  The right side of the pool and the right side of the entrance on the grass will be reserved for Clubworx to have extra room.

FOOD VENDORS/CONCESSIONS

We will have three food trucks on-site for this meet.

-Tacos Mama Chava will be at Cambridge Pool from 4:45 pm to 6:45 pm.  You may pre-order food for this food truck on the morning of the day of the meet at https://streetfoodfinder.com/tacosmamachava.

-Roasted and Toasted will be at the Cambridge Pool from 4:45 pm to 6:45 pm.  No pre-order options available.

-Alsie's Ice Cream truck will be on site from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.

Concessions will be available for purchase on deck. VENMO only.

MERCHANDISE

Team merchandise will be available for purchase directly next to concessions to include tshirts, shorts, hats, towels, swim caps and visors. VENMO only.

PARENT/COACHES RELAY

We are communicating with Clubworx to determine if we will have a Parent/Coaches relay.  Parents that are interested in swimming in the Parent/Coaches relay, please bring your suit and email Mandy at [email protected] to let me know.

2024 REGENCY RIPTIDES - PLEASE NOTE

We are still looking for several volunteers to fulfill open positions for our 2024 Riptides swim team. Now would be a great time to train with our current board members, in order to ensure that we have the positions filled and that we will be able to have a swim team next year. The open positions are as follows: Swim team chairperson, merchandise coordinator, sponsorship coordinator, and volunteer coordinator.
