BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS

We expect all Riptide swimmers to behave in a manner that is respectful to their coaches and fellow teammates. Swimmers will be given two chances to correct disruptive behavior during practices. If they fail to be able to listen and remain non-compliant, they will be asked to sit out of the pool for 15 minutes.

TEAM SWIMSUITS

The team swimsuit will be the same as the swimsuit that we wore for the 2022 swim season.  You may use our Regency Riptides Facebook page to buy/sell team swimsuits from your neighbors!

REFUND POLICY

Within the first week of practice, you may withdraw your child for any reason and have 100% of the registration fee returned to you. During week two of practice, withdrawal from the team will result in a return of 75% of the registration fee. Payment for swimsuits and spirit wear are nonrefundable.

To withdraw your swimmer from the team, please contact one of the following: Mandy Withrow ([email protected]) or Wendy Monroe ([email protected]).

All swimmers will be evaluated by the coaches during the first week of practice. Your child may be asked by the coaches to do Riplets if they are not able to swim 15 yards unassisted or if the coaches feel your child may benefit from the Riplet learn to swim program.

WEATHER POLICY

You will see this information more than once over the coming weeks. Weather plays a big role in our swimming plans. We have three reasons to delay or cancel a practice or meet.

1. LIGHTNING Deck is cleared. Everyone must return to their cars or home for 30 minutes from each instance of lightning.

2. THUNDER You may stay on deck, but the pool closes for 30 minutes from each clap of thunder.

3. HEAVY RAIN If the lifeguards cannot see the bottom of the pool due to heavy rain, they will close the pool until conditions improve.

VOLUNTEERS

Everyone was required to sign up for 3 volunteer dates in addition to time trials during registration. If you have any questions regarding volunteering for the meets, please contact Beth Ward ([email protected]). Please be on the lookout for more information regarding volunteering for the season!  If you have availability to participate as a volunteer for the meet on June 27th or July 18th and are not already committed to volunteer at these meets or your spouse is available, we would love your help! Please contact Beth Ward, if interested.

FINALLY, HELP NEEDED for the 2024 season! 

We would love to be able to have a 2024 Regency Riptides swim team but in order to do so we need individuals to fulfill the following positions for the 2024 season! Training starts now!

TSA Representative - Represent Regency Riptides swim team on TSA Board of Directors. Works as the representative of TSA at all meets to address issues or questions that arise during meet.

Starter - The Starter works closely with the Announcer, Clerk of Course and Dolphin Timer Manager. The Starter has control of the starting device button. You will direct each heat of swimmers onto the starting blocks and deliver commands.

Merchandise Coordinator - Manages procuring merchandising items for the 2024 season. Designs banners and promotional material for the team.

Sponsorship Coordinator - Recruits local businesses to sponsor the swim team for the 2024 season (this is a preseason commitment).

Chair for the 2024 Regency Riptides Swim Season - Plan and execute all tasks related to the 2024 Riptides Swim season. Helps to oversee the successful completion of all swim meets.
