Cary City Meet - Registration Payment and Additional Details
Hello Riptides!
For those of you that have not signed up for the Cary City Meet, our deadline has been extended. We will now need your commitment by July 6th instead of July 4th.
I have included the below meet information to better help you make a decision as to whether or not you would be interested in attending this meet. If you do choose to attend the meet, the fees are as follows:
Each swimmer will be required to pay $6 per each individual event that they sign up to compete in at the meet. The Regency Riptides swim team will cover the costs ($12 per relay) for all relay events at the meet. You may pay by check made out to Regency Riptides and give to Mandy Withrow (919-604-1151) by Friday, July 8th for your swimmer's individual events.
ADDITIONAL MEET DETAILS
SWIMMER REQUIREMENTS
6 and Under
-will swim 25 yards
- may only sign up for freestyle and backstroke events
7 and up
- may only register for no more than three individual events (freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, butterfly)
All Regency Swimmers
- limited to no more than three relay teams per relay event
SCHEDULE
The tentative schedule for the meet follows. Please note that the schedule lists approximate start and end times and is subject to change based on final number of entries, weather, technical difficulties, etc.
Morning Session (10&Unders)
Warm-ups begin 7:00 am
Opening announcements 8:00 am
First event 8:15 am
Conclusion of session 12:30 pm
Afternoon Session (11&Ups)
Warm-ups begin 1:00 pm
Opening Announcements 2:00 pm
First Event 2:15 pm
Conclusion of session 7:30 pm
Awards will be presented at the conclusion of the afternoon session.
FACILITIES
Teams will receive a facilities map, parking map, and traffic map in their team packet distributed at the pre-meet meeting on Sunday, July 10th.
Tents: All teams must supply your own tents. If you need to rent one, we recommend Grand Rental Station. Please send your tent size (maximum 20x20) to [email protected] by Saturday, July 2nd. You may set-up your tent after 5pm on Friday, July 15 and must remove your tent by 5pm on
Sunday, July 17. Tent assignments will be made and included in the facilities map distributed at the pre-meet meeting. Please keep your tent area clean and bring any grounds issues to the meet chair or SHRC staff.
SEATING
Parents and swimmers should bring their own chairs and/or blankets for seating in your tent area. No spectator chairs will be allowed on the pool deck. However, bleachers offering limited seating will be available on the pool deck.
Coaches will get 3 poolside chairs per team (they will be placed by Scottish Hills). Coaches’ seating will be assigned on both sides of the pool; please look for your marked chairs on Saturday morning.
PARKING
Parking is restricted to designated streets and marked areas; a swimmer drop-off area will be designated along Tarbert Drive. Please look for parking volunteers to direct you to designated parking areas. Each team will receive one parking pass that allows parking in either the SHRC lot or Annie Jones Park (across Tarbert Drive from the pool). Parking maps and passes will be distributed at the pre-meet meeting on July 10. Please distribute the parking map to all parents prior to the event. Please be considerate to the neighbors and DO NOT block driveways and mailboxes.
CONCESSIONS
Swimmers, families, spectators, and coaches will have a variety of food options at the meet. Most vendors (and the SHRC snack bar) will accept credit cards as well as cash.
Food vendors include Jimmy Johns, Ty’s All Natural, Salvio's Pizza and
Pelican’s Sno Balls.
The snack bar will offer a variety of candy, snacks, ice cream, and drinks.
HOSPITALITY
Coaches will have access to our hospitality area offering a variety of snacks, fruit, and
drinks, and will also receive a ticket good for a meal from selected food vendor. Number of coaches meal tickets will be determined by team size and distributed at the mandatory meeting.
T SHIRTS AND HEAT SHEETS
Cary City Meet t-shirts are $15. Credit cards will be accepted for these
purchases. Heat sheets will be available online for download or printing prior to the event. Please note: The online heat sheet will be available no earlier than the Thursday prior to the meet and is subject to change.
VOLUNTEERS
Each team will be required to provide volunteers; specific volunteer assignments will be made after team registrations are received and will include a variety of positions including timers, runners, kid pushers, and stroke and turn judges. Number of volunteer positions will be determined based on number of swimmers. Volunteer roles will be sent out no later than July 8th. Teams MUST fill all volunteer positions for swimmers to participate.
