RIPLETS

Riplet families will soon be contacted by Laura Taylor ([email protected]), our Riplets coordinator. Please add her to your contact list. Mark your calendar for June 4th from 2 pm-3:30 pm. Laura will send a signup genius for you to pick one 30 minute time slot on this day for your swimmer to be evaluated at the Danbury Pool.

TEAM SWIMSUITS

Our team swimsuit may be purchased at All American Swim. Their address is 1231 NW Maynard Rd. Cary, NC 27513 and their phone # is 919-439-8678. The team swimsuit will be the same as the swimsuit that we wore for the 2021 swim season.

REFUND POLICY

Within the first week of practice, you may withdraw your child for any reason and have 100% of the registration fee returned to you. During week two of practice, withdrawal from the team will result in a return of 75% of the registration fee. Payment for swimsuits and spirit wear are nonrefundable.

To withdraw your swimmer from the team, please contact one of the following: Vanessa Trout [email protected] or Wendy Monroe ([email protected]).

All swimmers will be evaluated by the coaches during the first week of practice. Your child may be asked by the coaches to do Riplets if they are not able to swim 15 yards unassisted or if the coaches feel your child may benefit from the Riplet learn to swim program.

WEATHER POLICY

You will see this information more than once over the coming weeks. Weather plays a big role in our swimming plans. We have three reasons to delay or cancel a practice or meet.

1. LIGHTNING Deck is cleared. Everyone must return to their cars or home for 30 minutes from each instance of lightning.

2. THUNDER You may stay on deck, but the pool closes for 30 minutes from each clap of thunder.

3. HEAVY RAIN If the lifeguards cannot see the bottom of the pool due to heavy rain, they will close the pool until conditions improve.

Saturday, June 4th ParentMeeting & First Saturday Practice

Please join us for the first of our Saturday practices and our ONLY parent meeting. The swim team board and committee chairs will share our vision for the season and discuss the vital role of our wonderful parent volunteers.

7 & up practice 9- 10 AM

Parent Meeting 9:30 AM

6 & under practice 10- 10:30 AM

VOLUNTEERS

Everyone was required to sign up for 5 volunteer spots during registration. If you have not signed up for 5 volunteer spots, please contact Beth Ward ([email protected]) or Kacey Johnson ([email protected]) to get a list of available volunteer spots, so that you can fulfill this requirement.

FINALLY, HELP NEEDED!! We need the following positions covered to have our swim meet:

Announcer Trainee- Communicates to meet attendees over the PA system. You will welcome the visiting team, announce meet officials, call events, direct swimmers to the Clerk of Course, and announce team scores throughout the evening.

Starter Trainee- The Starter works closely with the Announcer, COC and timer manager. The Starter has control of the starting device button. You will direct each heat of swimmers onto the starting blocks and deliver commands.

Co-Chair for the 2023 Regency Riptides Swim Season - Work together with current co-chair to plan and execute all tasks related to preparing for the 2023 Riptides Swim season. Helps to oversee the successful completion of all swim meets.
